I got it! It came in the mail....
During my normal scans of Discogs and eBay, I sometimes come across what the VC would call my personal Vinyl Grails. These are records that may not be hard to find per se, but are too pricey just to just go out and buy. One recent grail of mine I received was the Red Hot Chili Peppers album What Hits?! To my knowledge, it was not released in the US on vinyl but was in a few countries in Europe and South America. These records are not really too expensive but add $30 in shipping and the cost goes too high. I was able to find one on eBay that was a decent price and was able to add it to my collection. But this is not what this post is about.
Another grail of mine was Ozzy's No More Tears. Many of Ozzy's albums are out of print and can be found all over the place like eBay and Discogs but again, the are too pricey for me.
I started seeing many of his records on eBay from a box set that people are buying and selling each record. These too are going for a premium.
Someone who loves me a whole lot decided to purchase the box set for me so I can have them on vinyl. This is what came in!!!!
I watched unboxing videos and read reviews and thought this would be my chance to get some good music and we got it from the Ozzy website. Link here. https://ozzyosbournemusic.shop.musictoday.com/product/Y4LPOZ008/
It is a hefty $499.99 but comes with so much. People are trying to sell theirs on eBay and other sites for well over the $500 price. People I am here to tell you that they still have some in stock.
There is supposedly a limit of 4500 made but I did see one review where the number on the certificate was over that. Many are posting when they ordered theirs and what their number is and I do not see a rhyme or reason.
I ordered mine in late July 2020 and it was delivered August 12th. I was lucky to get a low number of 502.
I must say that I am totally impressed with this box set. The records are on colored splatter vinyl and each album has different colors. Every record so far has played beautifully. No warps, pops, skips, scratches, or anything.
I am not a big fan of posters but the Augmented Reality that is on the back of each poster is crazy cool. Even the box itself plays a song and looks like a record is spinning.
